Does enjoyment always have to wait?

There will always be another chore. Fun belongs in an ordinary life, too: play, laughter, curiosity, shared moments, or quiet enjoyment. The question is what you actually enjoy, and whether you are making any room for it.

A useful place to begin

An activity can be enjoyable without producing anything. Notice the difference between fun you value and a default you barely remember choosing.

What do I enjoy that I keep postponing until everything else is done?

Give ten minutes to something you enjoy, or add a little play to an ordinary task.

Take it into your week

Write a few honest sentences, then choose one action that is in your control. Decide when it could happen. Come back afterward and notice what you learned.
